A propos de l'autre sujet du forum: Groupes de la Musique Australien, j’ai une idée:

Vous connaissez la chanson “Livin’ la vida Loca” par Ricky Martin?
(Bien sûr, je pense que tout le monde le savoir!)

Well, I thought if anybody’s interested, for fun some of us could make a song or poem along the lines of ‘Livin’ la vida Australiana’
And then I thought, even better, pourquoi pas “Livin la vie Aus-sie”

It might work...my husband has written melodies for his own bands and for other people, so it’s possible that FDU'ers could have a song...but, hey, if it didn’t work out, we could still have an interesting poem anyway.

My idea is to make something about what Australia means to you. Les mots, les petits phrases...les images... etc.

In some ways I think this is better than asking some Australians who have been here forever and can at times take a lot of good stuff for granted, and don’t know any other kind of life to know if life Downunder really is that great compared to elsewhere.
You Francophones are therefore much more qualified....donc, si tu voudrais, envoyez-moi tes idées. Un melange du ridicule et le raissonable serait bon...et selon moi, les meilleurs chansons ont aussi fait avec un melange de français et anglais.

If you need a little inspiration or would just like to hear some real and modern Aussie Australiana songs, I have some suggestions:

Lyrics of songs by John Williamson (eg ‘True Blue’). Lee Kernaghan (eg Southern Son, ‘Cause I’m country’) I don’t like their music personally because it can be very ‘country & western’, but others might enjoy it.

A couple of great rock tracks about Australian life on the land:
“Way out West” (get the duet version, 1992 James Reyne & James Blundell...it’s easy to find and one of my top recommendations ever). & James Blundell’s ‘This Road’.
Also 90’s rock (+ only slightly country) stuff of Keith Urban, who these days is a big Nashville star. (Essaie “Only You” et “The River”)

Ne manquent pas les chansons “Dead Heart” et “King of the Mountain” de Midnight Oil. Formidable!

Aussi, est-ce quelqu’un connais la chanson s’appelle “Marseille” ? (It’s one of the greatest hits ever of Oz legends The Angels. Written 1978 but still as good as new). Another 5 star song.

Have fun!
Kate :)
